Services 1. Repair or Re-Roof

If you have an isolated leak you may be able to repair just that one spot. If you have multiple leaks or areas that have damaged shingles you may want to consider re-roofing.  If your shingles are older, it may be approaching the end of their useful life.

Older shingles may be so faded that you'll need to re-roof to match color.  If you do need new shingles you may be able to replace a section of roof at a time.  Color matching may not be a problem for sections on the side or in the back.  If these areas are not problematic they may be re-roofed at a later time.

Jim will be happy to explain why repairing or patching your existing roof instead of installing new shingles may or may not be a more effective option for you.

Services 2. Re-Roof or Strip

Installing new shingles over the old ones is often done and can be a big savings in terms of time and labor.  This extra layer of shingles also serves as added insulation and protection on your roof.  However, there are some reasons why your roof may need to be stripped before new shingles are applied.  If your shingles are old and curled up or otherwise damaged, new shingles may not lay flat over them and the old ones will have to be removed first.  If you have experienced severe or prolonged leaking, your plywood or boards under the shingles could be rotted, and your roof may have to be stripped and new plywood installed before the new shingles can be applied.  If you already have two layers or more on your current roof.  It will need to be stripped.

Jim will inspect your roof, clarify the pros and cons of stripping vs. re-roofing, and provide the best solution for your specific situation.

Services 3. Roof Vents

Your roof and your whole house., for that matter, were designed to keep things like rain and wind out.  But they also do a pretty good job of keeping things in, such as moisture and air pollution.  Your home and roof require adequate  ventilation to function properly.  Jim can help you determine if ridge vents, soffit vents, or solar powered vents are right for you.  He can also help to make sure your existing or new dryer vents, kitchen and bathroom fan vents, as well as any pipes or protrusions through the roof are properly sealed.
